Canadian passport application for adults
To apply for a passport for the first time, you must be a Canadian citizen and at least 16 years old. Below are several things you need to do to apply for a passport:
* Complete the Adult General Canadian Passport Application Form (PPTC 153)
* Provide proof of Canadian citizenship (original documents only)
* Provide identification documents.
* Provide two identical passport photos. The photographer’s name and address, as well as the date the photos were taken, must be on the back of one of the photos.
* Present any valid Canadian travel document issued in your name.
* You must sign the passport application form and one passport photo and all copies of identity documents
* You should also introduce two people who have known you for at least two years. These people cannot be family members.
* Registration of application and payment of fees.
* All submitted documents must be in English or French. If you want to change your name, replace a lost or stolen passport, want to remove your place of birth or want to update your gender ID, additional documents may be required.
