Apprenticeship

About Apprenticeship

People who intend to work in skilled trades in Canada undergo an apprenticeship. Apprenticeship is a training course that includes two parts: Technical training that takes place in college or technical vocational schools and the training course that is actually done with employment and under the supervision of a work teacher.

The requirement to participate in the internship is a tripartite contract between the trainee, the certified master and the professional certification authority. During the training period, which is 3 to 4 years, between 7 and 9 thousand hours of training and theory training, the trainee receives a salary. There is also a written exam at the end of each level .

Many people who intend to immigrate to Canada and are in jobs such as electricians, car mechanics or welding participate in apprenticeship courses so that they can finally pass the Red Seal professional certification exam and work in any province in Canada. .

In different provinces, the government gives financial facilities to trainees and tax benefits to master workers.
