Immigration to Canada via Family Sponsorship

Immigration to Canada via Family Sponsorship

Canada strongly promotes family values. For that reason, each year the Federal government allocates a big number of quotas for the Family Immigration Class that allows Canadians to sponsor their relatives and bring them to Canada permanently. Under the Family Immigration Class, there are three main categories of sponsored relatives: Parents and Grandparents, Spouses, and Dependent Children.

Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship

The Federal government provides the opportunity to sponsor your parents or grandparents to Canada. In the past, Canada practiced a lottery system of selecting candidates from the pool of those who declared the intention to sponsor parents or grandparents. Since this system was criticized as unfair, in 2018, IRCC reformed the system into a first-come, first-served basis.

Spousal Sponsorship

Two-thirds of the Family Class immigrants are spouses, common-law partners, and conjugal partners of Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents. Canada treats equally both married couples and those who are in a common-law relationship. The same is also true for heterosexual and same-sex couples.

The main goal of preparing a spousal sponsorship application is to prove the genuine character of the relationship. When we submit your application, we will show all the required evidence of the true relationship between you and your partner. IRCC officers will assess your application and once it is processed, your relative will get a Permanent Resident status.

Dependent Children Sponsorship

Canadian PRs and citizens can sponsor their children as a dependant if they are within the age limit and meet all the requirements. A child is eligible to be sponsored if he/she is under 22. In case you are a citizen of Canada, your child may already be a Canadian citizen by origin, even if he/she was born outside Canada. Canada also enables its residents to sponsor adopted children or dependent children of their spouses or common-law partners.

We will prepare a complete application with supporting documents to maximize your chances to get your application approved. Once the immigration authorities will review the application and make a decision, your child will become a Canadian Permanent Resident.
