What is an internship or co-op (CO-OP) in Canada?<\/strong> <\/span><\/h2>\n

Student work can be a very important topic in academic programs. In some academic courses and some stages, internships or co-op are part of the curriculum and it is important to pass them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Internship or co-op (CO-OP) is the best opportunity for international students to benefit from work experience in the destination country along with salary (in some cases) during their studies. Canada is preferred, which means that a Canadian citizen is on an equal footing with a non-Canadian citizen.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the difference between co-op and internship? <\/span><\/p>\n

It is good to understand that co-op is a program in which classroom teaching is replaced by work semesters related to the field of study. And internship is a program in which tasks are assigned to you and a supervisor supervises your work. During this internship period, you will receive on-the-job training and acquire the skills and knowledge needed to enter your field of work.<\/span><\/p>\n

The practical units of co-op courses should not be more than 50% of the total course units. At the same time, it is the responsibility of the college to find a place for internship in co-op courses and students can help in this process.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are CO-OP courses in different disciplines and degrees:<\/span><\/p>\n

Graduate Certificate<\/span> usually these courses are eight months to one year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Diploma<\/span> The duration of the diploma course is two years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Advanced Diploma<\/span> is equal to associate degree in Iran and the duration of the course is three years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bachelor<\/span> is equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Iran and its duration is four years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Post Graduate Certificate<\/span> This course, which lasts for one year, is after the bachelor’s degree and allows the applicants to become ready for the job market.<\/span><\/p>\n

How are educational programs during the co-op era<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

The TBS policy for recruiting students requires organizations to prepare a training program for each assignment. Organizations can prepare the program themselves or they can use the general program provided by the educational institution. together with a description of the task should be used.<\/span><\/p>\n
