Employment conditions outside of Canada for people with permanent residence<\/strong> (<\/strong> PR<\/strong> )<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Many times, people who succeed in obtaining permanent Canadian residency tend to continue working outside of Canada in a Canadian company, and their assumption is that the length of stay outside of Canada is included in the calculation of the time required to maintain residency. Of course, such an assumption can be true if the proposed job and the employer are both qualified.<\/span><\/p>\n

A person who has a permanent residence must be physically present in Canada for two years (730 days) in every five-year period, otherwise he may lose his permanent residence due to “failure to meet the condition of presence”.<\/span><\/p>\n

If a person who has permanent residence is the spouse or child of a Canadian citizen and accompanies him outside of Canada, the period of stay outside Canada is calculated as the period of mandatory stay in Canada. If a person who has permanent residence is assigned to serve outside of Canada as a Canadian government employee, the duration of the mission is also calculated as the duration of the employee’s stay in Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another option is to work for a Canadian company outside of Canada. In this case, the type of employment and the nature of the Canadian company must have certain conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. A person should work full-time under a contract.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The employee will be employed for a certain period in a Canadian company or company.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Maintain contact with the parent company in Canada during the service period.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. The employment is only temporary and the person intends to continue working in the employer company in Canada.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    A company is eligible if it meets the following conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. The company is registered as an incorporation<\/strong> in Canada.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. The parent company in Canada has income and operates with the purpose of making a profit. Most of its shares should be owned by people with Canadian citizenship or residence.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. The company is established in accordance with federal or provincial laws in Canada.<\/span><\/li>\n
