What is biometrics?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Biometrics include fingerprints and face painting. This information is used to identify people’s identity, and while facilitating the registration of people’s identity information when they enter the country, people who have security problems are prevented from entering the country. Therefore, it is practically impossible to review any request for temporary or permanent residence without biometrics.<\/span><\/p>\n

Who needs biometrics?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

People who act in any of the following cases need to do biometrics.<\/span><\/p>\n

tourist visa<\/span><\/p>\n

Study or work permit (other than US citizens)<\/span><\/p>\n

permanent residency<\/span><\/p>\n

Application for Refuge<\/span><\/p>\n

Extension of temporary stay in Canada<\/span><\/p>\n

Extension of study or work permit<\/span><\/p>\n

Biometric authentication<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

  1. For temporary residence (visit, study or work), the results are valid for up to 10 years. You can use the Check Status Tool on the website of the Immigration Department to make sure your biometric results are valid.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
